No mate, but I'll be having a proper look at the car in the next couple of months. I'm thinking there's something wrong with the wastegate - either it's stuck open, there's a leak in a vacuum hose or the vacuum valve is toast

OK i have a naff actuator, mines stuck open, had a look at a activa turbo CitroJim from the frenchcarforum has on his work bench today, and the arm on that has to be pulled out of the actuator to open the waist gate, where as on mine its the opposite, i have to push the damn thing in to the actuator to get it to close.

Annoyingly looks like the breakers yard in Northampton have changed their opening days as it was closed when i got there, other wise i would be stuck under a car getting me parts. looks like its going to have to be sometime tomorrow then. ill see if i can get that pipe if its in good condition as well.

teamster1975 I've been over the scrappers today, had a look, got a working actuator that i need to claim before they crush the car (forgot i emptied my tools from the boot due to the misses wanting to do shopping :( ) and they have that pipe of yours too :D so I've hidden it and will grab it Wednesday when i head back over for my actuator.

For diagnosing boost issues, a boost gauge is invaluable...

Wastegates rarely cause problems but actuators do. Sometimes they seize up, or the diaphragm splits inside. Although neither is really that common. The do lose tension over time so its worth nipping them up a bit if your ever in that area. I did the same to mine last week and i get only a 1psi boost drop at the top end, which is excellent for a small turbo on a big (ish) engine!

I've been thinking the same myself... Does anyone know the measurements of the vacuum pipes for getting the right T-pieces?

Boost gauge kit usually comes with a T-piece. Mine is t-eed into vac pipe to ECU, just before the fuel vapour/oil trap. Best spot IMO, as this is what the ECU is seeing and they can be quite fussy sometimes near the boost cut.
