Performance Parts

Post by highlander »

Hello,

I was having a browse around Halfords website, and spotted their "Performance Parts" section, in which they list several "Universal" replacement air filters, which are meant to provide "better performance".

Has anyone tried any of these? Do you notice any difference? Is there anything really to be gained from using one (fuel efficiency, etc), or would the insurance go up so high as to make it totally not worthwhile?

While on the subject, is there anything that I could do to (or replace on) a V-reg (1999 facelift) 406 LX petrol saloon that would give it a little extra kick (or a better sound) without requiring a degree in Rocket Science or a bank balance like Bill Gates?

Just wondering, like.

Kind regards
Graeme

Don't think I could justify the cost though ...

The performance air filter may help a little, I have a friend who mounted one on polo 1.2 65HP and he said that the car is a bit more responsive...
