No, still alive - though took a good few turns this morning at +7C to get it going. Obviously, it will be fine for the rest of the day.

PP2000 is out for delivery now, but I won't be home till late tonight so won't play with it till tomorrow morning.

Ah. I thought for a moment there that the problem had manifested itself in a more apparent manner (as my dad would say) so you'd be looking for a definite fault, rather than suspecting everything.

Good luck with PP!

Can you frig it up to give you live data whilst cranking tomorrow morning? as I think this is what you'd need to see.

Yep, that's exactly what I was thinking. Cranking it now won't tell me anything as it will start within a few turns.

Ooooookay - got PP2000 yesterday and got it installed after some helpful YouTube guides. Why can't sellers supply proper instructions?!

Anyway... connected to the car and read the ECU. Result: no faults found  Balls. I was really hoping it would tell me something.

So then went to live parameters thing and started cranking the engine from cold. Chug-chug-chug-chug.. not starting. RPM was reading between 160 and 200-something and fuel pressure - zero. Now, as it was the first time with live measurements, I wasn't sure whether it's a communication fault or there really was no fuel pressure at all. After 10 seconds of cranking - it burst into life. Fuel pressure - 298 bars. Hmm...

I made a recording of the live parameters but this after the engine started the first time. So, it's a bit moot but ... I'd like an opinion on injector readings at 1 minute into the video. Injector 1 seems to be correcting up to around 2 mm/stroke whereas others are -0.something. Could it be that a leaky injector is leaking too much fuel back to the tank during cranking and not building up pressure? Hence quite a bit of cranking is required in the morning when the battery is rotating the starter somewhat lazier to build up pressure?

Happily, I have a spare injector lying in the garage somewhere that I bought when I was trying to sort out my rattle issues, so I could replace it just to see. I guess I should do a leak-off test but it's bloody miserable and cold outside and I have no desire to do this today. Monday/Tuesday will be my first opportunity to do this. In the meantime, would sticking some injector cleaner in the tank/fuel filter be worth trying?

Let's hope the injector isn't seized in the head, eh? :?

Edit - added video:

Yes, Chris, not sure why your PP2000 wouldn't read the ECU. Once I installed PP2000 and Lexia software, it had no problems.

I would try reinstalling the drivers/software... maybe something didn't get installed correctly?
