I'm liking your positive attitude Capt Jack :)

At least you honed in your soldering skills.
I'll grant you that, hadn't soldered since school so was surprised it worked!
sirwiggum wrote:I tried to change the oil and ended up draining the gearbox
The gearbox was treated to new oil - never a bad thing.
This is true, and I was chuffed that 406 gearboxes have an easy-fill breather!
sirwiggum wrote:I tried to get rid of some rust bubbles on the passenger doors and ended up with several shades of blue.
But no rust.
After the winter the rust was back with a vengance, and my nearside doors were a mix of blue, part of why I wanted rid of it.
sirwiggum wrote:For the handbrake I left the 406 in to a garage, £300 later had something that just about worked.
Er... OK no positive here but mine can hold a lorry after replacing the shoes and the seized cable.
Well the positive was that it got through an MOT, and stopped rolling forward into the front doorstep at night!

id love if my handbrake worked right, it would be a handy thing for waiting at the lights instead of balancing the clutch which cant be good for the car.

Is that not what Peugeots are fitted with towbars for?

The missus likes to use mine to redesign our neighbours number plates occasionally. apparently the reverse sensors were drowned out by the baby.

The automatic will creep forward, but on a steep hill it will start to roll back, so need to hold it on the footbrake and then give it plenty of right pedal when the lights go green!

and 0.000000002ms after the lights go yellow, he's honking his horn, flashing his lights, and shouting at you to get a f*cking move on

(this actually happened to me once, back when I was a Clio driver (i.e. less than a year since I passed my test), although I must confess, I may be exaggerating about the number of decimal places)

I've seen a lot of Golf drivers recently driving badly too.

vw drivers are just as bad as audi drivers on the roads, the only german car that gets a nicer sort of driver is mercs, they dont tailgate you like the others they either give you your space or if its an amg merc they overtake and give your ears a treat.

I was in the dentists today and i had a look through one of the most awful magazines ive looked at.

Not a problem in a tweaked XUD, get it to about 1500rpm, floor it and cover him in smoke

I did that to a BMW E46 convertible the other day with cream leather because he was that near to my bumper, he didn't seem best pleased!

Addition: Do it on veg oil for extra points, and smell!

hehehehhe couldn't have happened to a "nicer" car

With the veg oil I'll bet he drove the rest of his journey with a craving for chips.
I used to when I ran the ZX XUD on bio....
