2.1 pump removal

hi everyone i was just wondering when i remove the electronic lucas pump will this cause any problems apart from the eml being on? and can i just use the old stop solonoid wire? i am just unsure if the ecu will cut the feed with the pump being dissconected thanks for any help

if the batteries taken out during the procedure the car is none the wiser about parts being removed.

:oops: sorry i didnt mention the most inportant part im puting a bosch pump back on instead. also is the rpm sensor for the gauge in the lucas pump or is it picked up somewhere else?

but use the Lucas pump bracket (after swaping the studs over to the other holes) and you can still use the cambelt cover.

excelent thanks for that can the rev counter be sorted by fitting a 96 ecu or is it not a straight swap?

I never got round to fitting one so I can't say for sure.
