CD Changer Heeeeellllllp!

Post by macc »

Hi peoples, i have a 1999 406 HDI. It came with a standard tape unit in front, and when cleaning the boot i found where the cd changer sits! (but no changer :( ) i went to local scrappy and picked up a Clarion PU-2145A for a tenner (bargain!). plugged it in but i get no power, and the head unit doesn't even recognise it (get nothing on head unit when trying to change modes). The blue plug socket on the cd changer looks like a wrong fit to the black plug on the loom.

Please help, Just wondering if the plug is not compatable, or for an after market changer

Hi there,

cant tell you if that one is compatible, one the techy types will be able to help you out there,

but as for it not recognising it from the head unit, thats because you will need to have the option switched on in the BSI, and sadly thats a stealer job or at the very least a specialist pug place or maybe if your lucky a member close by might have the right software and and be able to do it for a beer token or two

its not much of a job for somebody with the right equipment, but sadly not DIYáble unless you have the gear :(

HTH

P.S if you stick your location up in your profile it helps people who might be local to offer help if they can :)

And welcome on in mate :cheesy:
