Hi everyone,
I bit the bullet and purchased a second hand 406, a 2004 HDI(90) model, 50k on the clock. I'm quite pleased with it, my mum has the 406 executive model, which I enjoyed driving.
However, this car has a few things missing on it:
- no remote
- sat nav cd player reports 'cd-rom unreadable', despite cleaning the cd.
- i am unable to turn on the radio, i press the button, i get nothing at all.
I've borrowed my mum's remote, and with that, i was able to set the clock, etc. But when I use the mode button to attempt to switch to the radio, I get nothing. The steering wheel controls don't work either.
Have I ended up with a duff radio, or does mum's remote belong to the wrong model car? Any help would be much appreciated - I miss the radio!
Regards
Steve

Re: Radio / sat nav cd player not working
Have you popped it out and checked that it's plugged in?
Re: Radio / sat nav cd player not working
ah, no i havent. I'm guessing the two holes on either side of the panel enable me to pull it out.
Would a fuse also be responsible?

Re: Radio / sat nav cd player not working
just tried out my cd player, it's a single slot clarion affair, no tape facility. i am unable to insert an audio cd, when i press the eject button, it makes an awful grinding sound.
could this affect the ability to switch the radio on? If it grinds, that means power is reaching the radio/cd player, so the fuse can't be blown, right?
Why do I think this could prove very costly?
