Your JVC head unit needs to support the remote feature and then you get an adapter for it. They aren't cheap though, I know when I got mine the alpine to adapter bit was about 3 quid, the adapter to steering stalk was about 35

replaced my phillips HU with a Radiomobile HU , which works fine but wish I could use the stalk to change channel/volume .
Not being into ICE per se .I did however have a plug left over when removing the old unit that obviously did not connect to the new one ! anyone know if there is a solution or am stuck with manual changing from now on ? HU model is RM7505MP3BK , and also cant find a manual for the HU either

PS sorry about hijacking the thread

the spare plug you have left over is for the stalk as you know,

your HU has to support steering wheel controlls , if your HU supports it you will need to buy an aditional wire that plugs into the spare plug you have left ,

UPDATE - ive just checked on the internet and i dont think your radio supports steering wheel controll,,
you can get it to work but it will mean replacing your HU
