Righto, Since getting the car the stereo has only worked coming through the 2 tweeters on the dash, so today I pulled it out and had a poke and a prod, It seems there is a fault with the cars head unit loom as the speakers all come on and off intermittantly when I move the cables around behind (not the stereo's loom)
Is this a common fault and if so how do I get to the to repair the cables? hope its not a dash out job
I've never heard of breaks in the loom unless someone has butchered it in the past
There have been a few cases of dry joints on the head unit itself though...
1996 406 1.8LX Got a bad case of hydro lock!
1996 406 Executive 2.0 Turbo XU10J2TE No longer hangin' on in there

Thing is tho the stereo was working fine all the way home when i first got the car, I pulled the stereo out to refit it correctly when I stopped for fuel, just it seems to have done something to the loom, its the part right back where the loom for the head unit comes from a joint of wiring
i think im having this problem, but its just the left speaker that comes on and off when i wiggle the connectors, whats and where exactly is this multiplug? ill have a look tomorrow
