Post by no2lurch »

i have a clarion cd player in my D9 which is multichanger compatible but i dont have the loom or changer.

i was wondering, can i adapt the wiring or use the socket where the changer would plug to wire in my ipod?

Has anyone tried these CD changer to iPod adaptors? Are they any use?

Do they charge the ipod?

It would probably be useful to buy a mobile phone holder to hold the ipod in place too.

Currently I use a Belkin iTrip FM transmitter. Works OK, the 406 seems to have a decent FM pickup, though I do get radio crackling noticable at higher volumes.
It charges the iPod and holds it in place.

The problem is the location of the power socket! Means I have to lay it flat otherwise it blocks the handbrake and gearstick. The Xantia had a power socket on the passenger side footwell of the centre console that was very handy for this.
