Post by v6saloon »

hey guys, my other half has a 306 2.0 16v xsi and needs a new exhaust, i have found one off a gti6, it is complete with manifold, cat with lambda sensor, middle section and backbox, as far as i know if i fit it all it should be ok? i just wandered if anyone can confirm this, cheers.

Looks possible if her cylinder head is the earlier one.

yes it is possible to providing you have the manifold and cat like you say. as it will also fit the 1.8 16v models. but it is a pain to fit an engine out job about u might get away with just removing the head or loosening the mounts and rocking the engine to fit it u will also need to relocate the water pipes that run over the top of the manifold as they will be very close to it

above post is correct, i did this to my old 1.8 16v, its more hassle than its worth tbh with you, you can get away with undoing all 3 mounts while supporting engine, removing battery tray and just about everything from the top of the gearbox, and 2 pairs of hands at least!! ive done it twice now, once on a 1.8 and again on a mates 2.0, both times were a nightmare, and re-routing/shortening/lengthening of water pipes so as they keep away from the manifold is a dificult job!
