will exec radio fit in lx

i have the chance to buy a radio casette with boot loader from an exec the stereo is same head unit as mine but when i looked in my boot where the boot loader fits there is no wiring harness for cd changer .

is the lead from the head unit removable with the stereo and as i have read on here is it likely that the stereo has amp in the boot ? im pretty sure its a d8 exec on a r reg any help appriciated .

If it's a D8 you shouldn't have any problems; as you say it's a case of transplanting the looms.
If you haven't got one you'll probably also need a trip computer as the exec radio displays on this.

has anyone ever took one of these stereo systems out in particular ( the wiring harness ) , what is the trip computer and will it effect the cd or radio ? the head unit is the same phillips radio cassette as i have now but has boot loader.

The trip computer is the little screen to the right of the hazard light switch. If it's not fitted there will be a little cubby hole there.

just had a quick look at mine and there is what looks like a display but more like a blank , think ill go look for wiring diagram and see if there is a difference in the loom or is it just a patch lead from head unit to boot loader.
