I'm looking into changing my stereo so i can integrate the ipod I'll be getting at xmas. Now heres where I'm a little confused:
On ebay they are selling Autoleads 406 stereo harness adaptor leads. But the picture looks like an ISO block to ISO block with one red wire trailing off.
So if the connectors in the 406 are ISO blocks (allowing me to plug into any aftermarket stereo) is this "adator" harness really needed? or am i missing that importand piece of info that makes all the difference?
Also will 2 thin flatblade screwdrivers be enough to pop out the existing stereo, or is there some crazy special tool priced £50 available from peugeot dealers only?
Stereo connectors, are they ISO blocks or not?

Do you have a JBL amp? If not, it should be a straight fit. I certainly don't have any "adapters" on the back of my Alpine but can't remember if I had to move some wires around (don't think so).

I had a similar issue when I bought my stereo through Halfords. The guy who took the order in-store said I'd need a fascia and a wiring loom adapter, so he ordered both.
When I came in for my fitting appointment after the parts had arrived, the fitter told me I wouldn't need the loom and so he fitted the stereo and fascia, and then refunded me for the loom.

Yep they are a standard fit. Like highlander I bought an adaptor "because there was one
" but found I didn't need it.
To remove the head unit we've used all sorts. Cotton bud sticks, kebab skewers, screwdrivers, just anything that fits the holes really!

Havent seen any JBL kit in my car, theres a Cr*pion CD player, steering remote and some speakers, thats about it. Where is the JBL Amp in the car (estate) if fitted?
As its a PSA car, it dosen't do that stupid thing where you swap stereo's and the new one stays on for a few minutes after you take your keys does it?

The amp (if you have one) is behind the right hand side panel in the boot.

Definitely not.
The first weekend, I had all that area stripped out to press out a dent with my foot, the first weekend I got the car.
Looks like after xmas it'll be time to start saving to get a new Ice install.
