Hi there im Mike im 21 and am just waiting for my papers to arrive after completing my level 3 mechanics apprenticeship, im from Port seton just outside edinburgh, just rescued an x plate 406 hdi from the scrapyard. it was an ex taxi, has 157000 miles on it silver with 3 ou of 4 nimrod 16's :). couple of niggles but nothing bad really. turbo just failed last thursday so got it all stripped today. hoping to get one tomorrow. its a garret m9 im looking for. i work on theese things quite alot so i pretty much know alot of them, just using the car as a runaround really as my real project is a 1994 toyota starlet gt turbo. type r killer :). anyway thats enough hope to have any quesions answered here :)

no its the gt turbo version. the one that doesnt look like a nissan micra :P

Hello!

It is very, very, very rare for the turbo to fail on the HDi but I suppose some will fail :|

yeah i was surfing ebay and just put 1.3 in and it came up. i have to have that. its great thoughfor suxh a little engine it leaves alot of bigger stuff standing lol type r's dont stand a chance :)

Starlet looks good mate, like me jap motors a bit meself. Got a 92' Celica GTi-16 :supafrisk: Granted it's not as exotic as the Starlet but still makes me smile.

Yep, the one with the pop up headlights (known as the ST182 - I think...! :shock: ). Also has air con 8)
Pretty tidy apart from a very annoying paint blemish on the rear N/S wheelarch where the previous owner attempted to repair a deep scratch with a tub of polyfilla & can of model car paint by the looks of it.... :x
Will post some piccies along with 406 pics when I get around to polishing them both! :oops:
