HDI Remap for economy, not power. Anyone do it?

Post by landymad »

Hi

Does anyone know of a company that does remaps for 90bhp Hdi (siemems injection system).

I'm after economy rather than power - although a little more poke is always welcome.

Anyone got long term experience of remaps with regards to reliability?

Cheers

Iv had my 90 mapped about 6k miles ago. Mpg hasn't changed, Ive averaged 48mpg over the last 4k, been the same since i had the car.

All fine so far, he clutch did slightly slip when it snowed and wqas cold. but has been fine since its warmed up a touch

Company called performance torque did mine, Chap called Will, top bloke,

No good for a Siemens type pump then as they only do Bosch :!:

I too have the Siemens 90BHP system. from my research there is little if anything around for these - those with the Bosch system fare much better

The linky above your post states they do not only the remap but the eprom chip as an alternative, meaning it's possible they can get around siemens 8)

For the landrover enthusiasts out there, they also do a switchable remap so you can go between the old program and the new (apologies for spelling, I appear to have drunk a bottle of wine, this is my third attempt to type) :supafrisk:

Sadly that's all I know too :(

Shame about the Siemens, seems no-one wants to (or can) touch it :?

Off topic (slightly) but Will at performance torque re-mapped my old Skoda Octavia TDi last year - cracking service, top man to deal with.

The dual mass flywheel and clutch sh*t itself after about 10k miles though, but it was to be expected!

Hence - my 406 110 hdi is staying exactly as it is! Slow and steady wins the race as they say! PMSL!

I counted at least three....
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Lol... I thought I was a bit of a lightweight but upon closer inspection the wine turned out to be 11.5%
It was a "dine after nine get free wine" promotion at a local eaterie 8)

Maybe I should have stuck to the rose instead
