Please can someone point me in the right direction as to which connection i would need. i beleive there is a few types and i dont want to get the wrong one if i need to give me more information just let me know..

You need an incredibly expensive dealer tool - the multitude of cheap readers available on ebay aren't compatible with older 406s like yours. Sorry.

Or you could take your car to the dealers. I think they charge about £60
