There's no movement on my wheels.

So I took it to Kwik-Fit for an alignment. The camber was around -2 degrees (ie. not the positive camber I was expecting!) which is apparently right, but it was toeing out a lot. Lots of fiddling with what looks like a bush(?) half way between the centre and the wheel, and everything was green on the screen. The camber on the front was WAY out and it was slightly toe-out and he fixed it with the aid of a welder used as a blowtorch(!!)

Borrowed some crayon, marked the tyres and drove a little too far on them. Nevertheless that it all rubbed off was a good sign, as was the heat across the tyre, the heavier steering (mmmmm) and reduced noise. £40. Win!

Now I can hear what I think is the offside disc catching the backplate. Haha remove one noise and another one becomes apparent!

While it was up on Kwik-Fit's ramp however I noticed a lot of bubbling paint on the drivers door. It also reflected the lights in a different distortion pattern to the body. It also had a rusty patch at the edge where it's evidently been thrown into stuff. It also has a wonky wing mirror fitting and the bottom of the door sticks out a bit. This, coupled with the fact I've just had to tighten the door bolt back up, and the lack of auto-folding mirrors leads me to believe the car's had a new drivers door which wasn't in the service history

Quick question - Australia never got the 2.0 Coupe...

Did the lesser models come with Brembos - All our coupes came with them...

No idea to be honest? We didn't get the tubby's as it was deemed to be too close in price to the V6 so they didn't bother with it...

As for the Coupe - they were close to $80k AUD on the road brand new, which was fairly expensive. Around about the same price as a loaded 328i at the same time! They were fairly popular though!

Anyways - here is a local site with 406's for sale! Worth comparing the prices and specs :cheesy:

Been too "annoyed" to touch it at the moment. Got a lot of crap going on away from the car

Nearly got me a new house the other day though. Only a 2-bed semi, but it had a driveway and a sweet garage with separate breaker box, loads of plug sockets, 6 strip lamps, bench and tv mount. It was MUCH cheaper than where I am now, bigger, nicer, double glazed, and in walking distance of both work, and my regular pub. PERFECT. Viewings were Saturday, Monday morning I phone up the estate agents, get told to go pick up an application form, do so on my lunch break only to find out some f*cker had been in early in the morning, got the form, filled it in, delivered it to head office AND had it processed before I got there  Been waiting 3 years for a house like that to turn up

So of course, my house has been punishing me. Toilet's started emptying itself over the floor again (in less time than it takes me to have a crap), ants have started appearing again and the mysterious puddle in the middle of the kitchen carpet has re-appeared. Nice.

Then one of my laptops (the one in 18hr/day use) decides to throw a wobbly and turn itself off randomly in any os at any temperature

So my wii decides to do an impression of a housebrick

My camera's decided to stop working too.

One of my cats is having trouble pissing again. Another £1000 bill likely if he's not better tonight

The ISP hosting the server my website, backup mx and secondary DNS is on have decided to drop its route for reasons unknown and can't be reached

Not bad for 2 1/2 days eh? It never rains...

Oh yeah, and the 406s clutch doesn't look like it's going to last more than a few weeks now

Oh dear....................!! I feel sorry for you!

I know what you mean about finding the perfect house though. Took us around 30 different viewings to find an apartment in London, which wasn't a rip off, good transport links, not around a murder area, parking spaces, 2 bedroom, modern and clean. Not really a lot to ask for, is there?

Hope it all gets sorted!
