Don't mind us jasper, we're a right fickle-minded bunch at times... it's really nothing personal. For example if someone posts something on a weekend, there's a high likelihood that I'll not reply because I'll be too hung over...

I think jasper needs to know 'how too' post pics so I'll oblige.......

You first have to register to a picture hosting site like photobucket, you upload the photo from your PC directly to your 'album' on their site then you can copy and paste the 'URL' or 'Link' of the image properties to here using these ..[img]>properties go here<[img] things from the button above.

It sounds like a right mess but after a couple of trials it's dead easy and believe me I'm no expert :|

Just to add to Welly's post Jasper; if you "Quote" someone who's posted an image you'll see the code to display the image within the quoted text. Or any other formatting codes for that matter; it's how I taught myself to do all the fancy stuff!

Thanks everyone! I guess I'm just lacking a bit of confidence / being too sensitive at the moment, I've had a lot of illness over the last few months, including heart surgery, so I'm not 100% myself yet.

Anyway I'll think of things to post that might be useful, and when I service the 406 (mot and service due March), I will do a run through of what I do, including pictures....talking of which, I will follow the instructions given, (thanks for that Welton) my son has a degree in computer science and is a computer programmer, so I'll get him to help me as well.

Japser - my mechanic (who's a smashing bloke) had a heart attack last year - I didn't appreciate the stress he was under until he told me about it :| and I thought a ramp was just there to lift a car up in the air :| incorrect parts, moaning unreasonable punters, people turning up with a surprise 'list' for you...bloody nightmare!

There's some great people on here and anything you can do to help is good new for the club.

Hmmm, I've had two of those :D The latest in July last year.

Supafrisk, I've not been here long enough to know other folks cars, but I'm slowly getting there, I've always been a bit slow :D

Regarding the EGR valve, do you have a problem with it? According to Autodata, the EGR valve is located on the bulkhead at the back of the engine compartment (there are two fittings with small rubber pipes going to them, along with an electrical connector), the only thing you can do with them is to clean out the cylinder with EGR cleaner (similar to carb cleaner) but specially made for EGR valves, there are seperate types for petrol and diesel...I keep some of each.

If it's not giving trouble, I would leave it alone. I looked at mine on the HDi 90 and it is on the rear bulkhead.

All the best.
