Dumbass question 1:

Registered as in wiki.pug406.com or 406oc.co.uk ?
As in pug406.com registration for write access to the wiki, although could limit it to only forum members being able to register so everyone here can keep control of what goes up.

Given you all a "Starter-For-Ten" - a brief history of the Peugeot brand - nothing about the 406 yet

Just proves the content creation and editing facilities of the Wiki work fine.

I spend a fair bit of time on here now, don't really know enough to contribute to some of the threads (i'm learning tho!) so i'm happy to contribute in other ways, if anyone has any ideas of other things to do with pug406.com let me know, happy to add more to it, trying to get back into a bit of webdesign and learn a bit more than basic html!

Well here's an interesting bit of trivia...

The 406 saloon/estate wiper blades are 24"/22". The coupe's are 26"/20"

(meaning my brand new Valeo flat blades won't cover the screen properly  when I pick up the coupe tonight :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: :cheesy: 8) )

Also the JBL amp setup is fed from the speaker connections on the ISO plug, not separate line-out connections, meaning I need to get my mits on an adapter before I can put my MP3 head in it

Nutski - can you install the InfoBox template on MediaWiki? This is a dead useful template that gives an information panel on the right-hand side; it's also a great way to link related articles.

Look at the Peugeot 406 article on Wikipedia to see what I mean. I copied and pasted the InfoBox entry onto the Peugeot 406 Wiki page, and it just comes up with "Template:Infobox Automobile" as the page text.

Well with my insurance up for renewal in a couple of days, it's an ideal time to get something else and I've been eyeing coops up since well before I bought the v6 saloon! In fact, if not for about 2 days on the auction for the saloon, I'd have bought a low mileage v6 coop with a mangled drivers door and an MOT fail on the brakes instead. I've had a car a year since getting my license, so why break from tradition (please for the love of god don't answer that! )

I'm hoping that with the money I get from the v6 saloon, it should only work out at about £6-700 for the upgrade, which ain't /too/ bad as long as it doesn't fall to bits on the way home tonight...

Wonder what I'll be doing this time next year; there's not much room for cheap, comfortable AND powerful upgrades from a 406 v6 coop  old BMW 750 perhaps?

Ok, installed a few extensions to get it on the way, should be able to create and implement templates now,

I've copied the orig wiki page to http://www.pug406.com/wiki/index.php/Peugeot406 to test and try and understand how it works, bit of a steep learning curve on this :cheesy:

I was thinking of making a contribution, but as my last post on the subject was ignored, I'm not sure if I should get involved.

Just been scrolling back to find your post.....
jasper5 wrote:As a professional mechanic, since I joined the club site I have always tried to help with "how to" questions, trouble is, you often get other opinions on how to, and then stuff gets lost.

I will always help where I can with "how to" questions, I will be servicing my 2001 406 HDi 90 shortly, I could take pictures and post them (if someone tells me how), of filters and stuff, checking brakes, adjusting handbrake, or anything else anyone wants to know about.

Supafrisk, tell me the model and year of yours and I will find out for you about the EGR valve. It may be the same as my own, in that case, I could take pics and do a "how to" for you.

I wouldn't be so bold as to claim to be an expert on all things 406, but I have done work on dozens of HDi engines, and of course I own a 406 and a Peugeot Expert HDi 90.

As regards where to buy parts from, that largely depends on where you live, in my local area, there are all sorts of motor factors and two peugeot breakers, not forgetting two Peugeot dealers....I'm on first name terms with the parts department of one of them.

I don't think your post was ignored, more missed/overlooked as the thread picked up, I personally think it is a good idea, i know mine needs a service and it would definately benefit me.

With posting pictures you would need to host them on a site such as photobucket and link them into the post, not hard to do but I sometimes find after a while the image links die and you end up with text and no pics.

What we could do is if anyone is happy to write up a how to and snap some pics i'll build it all into a page that we could link to from the forums and the wiki, whaddya all think?

Oh puggy, speaking of going off topic... yours is HDi 110 isn't it? And after chipping, you've had no problems, right?
