Bit difficult for me to get pics while working in the street - chances are the camera would get nicked...

Wait until I get myself a house with a garage... :)

Soon! (with luck)

Well this place is pretty much full of "how to's" it's just that they're spread out all over and even if you search you don't always find what you want.

I did a 'buyers guide' once somewhere which'll be handy I suppose.

We need someone with a few spare evenings to stick it all together 8)

On a similar note - are we alright for money? I wouldn't want to think Nick's out of pocket for the sake of a few regulars chipping in a couple of quid or whatever? what about Dai's Stickerzzz - did they return a profit for the club?

I've been thinking, what would be cool is a 406 wiki, with info about the various models and articles on how to do this or that, where to buy stuff, people's projects and so forth. Benefit of a wiki of course is anyone here could edit it.

I might even be volunteering for such a project, once I get qualified...

Oh, and by the way, I found this undertray today! Yeah, just lying there on the road near Market Harborough... bolted it on underneath my jam jar and it's all peachy! *runs away*

Been pondering that for the last year or so, but I don't have a suitable server available at the moment. Also managing it would be a bit of a pain, with accounts needing to be hand-approved and write access limited to those with accounts as wikis can become right spam magnets

As a professional mechanic, since I joined the club site I have always tried to help with "how to" questions, trouble is, you often get other opinions on how to, and then stuff gets lost.

I will always help where I can with "how to" questions, I will be servicing my 2001 406 HDi 90 shortly, I could take pictures and post them (if someone tells me how), of filters and stuff, checking brakes, adjusting handbrake, or anything else anyone wants to know about.

Supafrisk, tell me the model and year of yours and I will find out for you about the EGR valve. It may be the same as my own, in that case, I could take pics and do a "how to" for you.

I wouldn't be so bold as to claim to be an expert on all things 406, but I have done work on dozens of HDi engines, and of course I own a 406 and a Peugeot Expert HDi 90.

As regards where to buy parts from, that largely depends on where you live, in my local area, there are all sorts of motor factors and two peugeot breakers, not forgetting two Peugeot dealers....I'm on first name terms with the parts department of one of them.

It's taken this long to get to the point where there's enough money in the tin that I can order the next batch without having to cough up out of my own pocket. There's been some ups and downs along the way but now each sticker sold really represents a bit of cash for the club :D 8)

What we really need now are alot more sales :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd: :arrowd:

Hey I also noticed that Nick's "Paypal Donate Now" button has disappeared. That can't be helping his cashflow :?

I've got some space we could use for a wiki, 2500meg storage and 60gig bandwidth a month, should do?

Edit: Got bored and installed MediaWiki (same one used by Wikipedia) on my webspace, its up and running, will look into it some more in the morning at work

I can get to the http://wiki.pug406.com server, but the MediaWiki web service forwards my HTTP request to http://wiki.pug406.com/406wiki/index.php/Main_Page, which says:

Code: Select all

The requested URL /406wiki/index.php/Main_Page was not found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
