clutch brand recommendations

Post by djheath »

Hello, I plan to replace my clutch at the end of march. I am going to take a week off work and do it myself! Hopefully a week should give me enough time!!!

Can anyone recommend a brand of clutch kit that I should buy? Any particular makes I should avoid? Is there a replacement clutch which would be a bit easier on the foot, as my current one (supplied by Mr clutch from the previous owner) is so heavy it hurts when in traffic jams!
406 1999 1.8lx XU7JP4 engine.

Many thanks.

A little too expensive for me I am afraid.

I see eurocarparts do a valeo for £70, so reckon I will go with that.

That sounds a good price 8) . Its personal choice i guess. With mine being chipped I wanted an uprated one. My clutch has an organic stage 1 clutch so so light.

One of my friends who has had many 406's as company cars cant believe how much better it is over a standard clutch.

I think you get a 40,000 mile or 4year waranty on techniclutch also.
