dealer prices

Post by bigblue2 »

thought while i was messing trying to get the 406 running it would be good idea to change all the glow plugs did 3 of them easy enough and to be honest once i moved a few pipes etc number 4 was ok, then the fun started number 4 was tight, so gave it some welly and it went all of a sudden it was only then i realised in doing so i'd hit the fitting where the coolant hose fits onto right by the glow plug and sheared it off :x ,so once plug was out i removed the 2 allen bolts which hold the bracket on and removed the plate that bolts to the head, it was buggered the connector was sheared off flush, so did some ringing around only to find out its main dealer only, called them and had shock for a peice of cast aloy about size of a match box and about10mm thick with 2 holes drilled in it and small pipe connector on the side £35+vat   ,my brother in law has got a porsche boxter and a more complex plate but for same kind of thing £7.89 all in

You do find this, and you also find other things are MUCH cheaper than expected - weird!

I reckon you got off lightly because if you snapped the glow plug in the head you'd be looking at more than £30 notes
