What mutha-hubard desighed this !!!!

Post by StevieboyTD »

I speak of course about the drivers side engine mount on the TD engined models. Did my cambelt yesterday (and today, long story!) and in the passed i've worked on 306's & 405's (LOTS of 405s, when i started out i worked in a taxi garage and every other car was a 405td) and the mount on the 406 is a "bit" different isn't it.

All i can say is ARGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Not much else i can put but those who have done it will understand :cheesy:

In answer to your question, one that didn't expect to work on it.

I've heard nothing but wonderful things about changing a 406 cam belt.

No, wait... that's an outright lie

I never have any problems with these, it's all about the height of the engine and the positioning.

I use a scissor jack under the sump, with this you can easily move the engine up and down and pivot it back to front.

Make sure all the casings are fitted before trying to fit the mounting.
