ipod adapter

Post by gRoberts »

hey all,

In my previous cars, i've fitted two Sony head units, my last being a M630 (lovely) but upon seeing the dash in the 406 and how crap it would probably look when I remove the OEM radio, I thought it may be better to look into hooking up my Ipod.

The radio is the standard tape only model, no CD Changer (unless I can't find it). I was hoping to find a solution that wouldn't involve an modulator or tape adapter, but if required then that is what I will do.

Any idea's?

You can get an adaptor plate to take a normal sized radio.

I've seen them but they look absolutely crap.

I actually quite like the OEM look.

Does anyone have any pictures of their head units using the facia's?

Cheers

It's really not that bad as long as you're careful with your choice in stereo. Mine blends in quite nicely with the pug colour sceme - especially at night 8)

I have this:

I'm not sure whether to buy the facia and give it a try?

Do you need to swap the Red and Yellow wires on the Peugeot for the memory settings or are they ok? Also what is the space like for the cages? The vectra had no holes in towards the front to attach the cage to, so it kept on falling forward.

Why not just get an MP3 transmitter for about £5 off e-bay & play it through the original radio :?:

I've just ordered an autoleads facia so I can see what it looks like. Hopefully it wont look that bad with my head unit, otherwise I will have to find another solution, like an FM Modulator.

Hi

I've been trying to get a bit of help with this but so far no joy. If one of you guys could help it would be great.

Basically I had an old R reg 406 with a really good panasonic head unit 2 amps and and a sub / CD changer.

I recently got a 2003 model with Clarion tape deck, CD changer and JBL amp.

My question is if I rip out the OEM head unit will this have an impact on the factory fitted sat nav audio (displayed in the same screen as the CD player data etc.)

Can anyone think of any other issues? I only think it would be the stalk audio controls but the other stalk controls are linked to fuel computer data etc.

Thanks
