Hi Everyone
Apologies. I am new to this forum and the first thing I do is ask your advice. I have replaced my standard CD player with one from another 406 (straight swap). I now need to get the replacement coded to my car as the eternal beeping is driving me insane! Having read all other related posts I understand that I need the vin number from the car that my replacement came. What can I do if this is not available?
Cheers Matt

Re: Reprogramming CD Player D9
Finally got my replacement stereo reprogrammed to match my car yesterday. You do not need the vin number of the car the replacement is from, just from the car it is going into. The guy opens up the stereo, removes the chip and puts it into an adapter to connect to computer. The programming code is then opened in a piece of software and it is simply a case of finding the vin number and replacing it with the new one. Had mine done at Premier Decodes in Motherwell £20. I did realise after mine was recoded that if the problem is with the CD deck then these can be swapped from the replacement to the original stereo chassis (with the coded chip in) eliminating the need to recode hence saving £20.
Hope this helps anyone else with the same thing.
