Changing injector pump

Post by neil-ste »

How difficult of a job is this on a d8?

I'm not shy with the spanners, although I never can get motivated to work on the Peugeot for some reason :( Probably due to hours misspent tinkering with my old 106 rallye.

Anyway, is it much of a faff on changing the pump? I assume that the timing belt will have to be removed and thus put back on again.

basically you just need to be clean and careful, lock the pump with the engine at TDC, undo the injector unions at the pump and injectors and remove the pipes, cover the holes with something to prevent any dirt from getting in, then its just a case of taking off the throttle cable, removing the fuel supply pipes, again taking note to cover the holes to prevent dirt getting in, then unplug the appropriate part of the wiring harness, then you can unbolt the pump, but i would suggest unbolting the pump and take the whole mounting bracket with it as this way you wont have to mess arround setting up the timing and then reffiting its the reversal of removal
