Hi
I have / had a problem and hope someone can help with it, or offer some insight.
I bought a peugoet 406 GLX N Reg 2 Litre Petrol from my sister last tuesday.
Its worked like a dream up until today.
I was on nights last night, I drove it home this morning and parked up.
I got up to go and change a tyre on it this afternoon.
I went to the car, put the key in, it wouldnt even turn over. Just got clicking.
I got someone to jump me off with leads, started first time. I went to the garage for my tyre ( was driving it for a good 30 mins before garage ), switched the engine off and it wouldnt start again, so I forked out 65 quid on a new battery.
On the way home from getting my tyre and battery, the car sounded like a tank and now my exhaust is shagged. Its bus for me in morning to work then.
I parked up at my house, got out. Locked it and pressed the dead lock on and the back window opened, whats going on with that? It eventually shut after my 5th attempt at manually closing the window with the internal button. ( It kept opening over and over on its own )
Are these cars prone to these types of problems, or is it just a bad day for me?
P.S Just passed my test and know jack about cars.
Cheers
Jim

Not had much luck here have you.
Maybe the car is like Herbie the Beetle and is missing your sister already
you haven't kerbed the wheel have you? they don't like it, they will sulk about it and play you up for weeks
The window problem is because of the flat battery, the windows need reprogramming to tell them where to stop, you might have to try a search on here for the fix for this because I can't remember who posted it. Someone else might though and save you the hassle
The other stuff is just wear and tear unfortunately - tyres, exhausts, batteries, welcome to the world of motoring
(welcome BTW)

Hi, thanks for the info.
Interesting about the windows, I`ll have a look for the thread.
Got my exhaust sorted today, just came loose apparently, lol.
