Clutch Pedal Height
My clutch pedal sits higher than my brake pedal on my newly acquired 2.2SRi. Now reading the posts on clutch bite has somewhat answered my question as to whether the clutch is okay or not (I now understand the 406 has a high bite point), however should the clutch pedal sit higher than the brake pedal or is it a sign of a worn clutch (2001 Y reg with 70000 miles on clock).
I have found my driving style has to be altered to suit the clutch on these cars and my left leg aches if in slow moving traffic due to the height of the clutch (I'd say its about 10mm higher than the brake pedal).
Cheers for any info.

An excellent point here fella.
My 1999 HDi has a high pedal (and bite) and I find my seating position is adjusted more for leg reach than arm reach and I end up sitting a bit too far back. I've even got the wheel reach pulled out as far as it will go to compensate.
By all accounts, a new clutch drops the biting point, not sure about the pedal but I assume that would drop too.

just had new clutch flywheel in mine. the initial clutch bite is a little lower but the pedal is near the top for the clutch to be fully engaged.
you have nothing to worry about. only need to worry if you get clutch slip, which should happen for a long time.

the CL ECU is behind the glovebox, look at the hinges for the glovebox lid pull the pins out and the lid drops down, there is a black plastic access flap where you can get to the ECU, as for your clutch there is nothing wrong, its very difficult to get used and can give symptoms like trouble getting into gear, it usually is just a case of the driver aint pressing the clutch down enough
