That's what I would do, clean the lens also make sure the disc is clean.

Mine does the same. I haven't cleaned the lens with the so called cleaners, to be honest I can't see how they work cos all they can do is to brush any dust off the lens into another area of the player, nothing else. However I will give it a go and let you know.

Does your auto volume control work? Mine wont switch on, or are they all like that

Well I will have to eat my hat! The cd cleaner (brushes on the cd disc) seemed to of worked. I will try it for the next few weeks, hopefully the problem I hadhas now gone, yipeee, the kids will be happy with me playing non stop ABBA and Queen!!! Now, I'm wondering if it's worth changing the speaker, the standard fit seem quite weedy to me - any ideas?
