406 HDI Insurance

This is going to seem a strange question but i am wondering if there are any good insurers for 406 hdi's this is a silly question being that i used to be a senior motor underwriter for RBSI for 6 years and am now a broker and have noticed the insurance group on these cars is high compared to say my brother in laws 52 plate 2.0 ls dti vectra which is 6 groups lower, my car is insured for £300 pa through a plan as i have a mate that works there anyone know anywhere where i can get it cheaper when i check the market on say confused or even at work its always like £600 up to about £1300 i have no claims or convictions 4 yrs ncb and 27 years old eveything going for me

Yes i was suprised ,i have just sold a bmw 520i se and swapped the insurance over to my hdi 110 only to be asked for an extra £50 for the remaining 6 months cover,despite my protests to the indian call centre ,they say its because the pug is newer and worth more performance didnt seem to come into it.
