The phat zorst will stop you getting anywhere near "normal" prices.
Dont be so stupid, the exhaust can be replaced for £60 and its only a 10 min DIY job.
This would still put people off though. At that sort of money, people want to buy cars that are in perfect working order and that don't need any work doing to them.

Precisely Benner.
I'm glad someone else here isn't afriad to show their common sense!

Geordieboy, mate, come on. Think about it. Further to the cost of replacing the Zorst, your overwhelming majority of potential customers see it as a grage job. IE not something they would do themselves. They know this will cost them another £30 to £50 on top of the cost of the part. Many will walk away.
Also, a Phat Zorst like that is indicative of modifying. Many will believe you've tinkered with the car and as the typical motorist looking to buy a 406 is not a boyracer, many will walk away. Basicaly you're cutting out a good 60 to 70% of potential buyers from the get go.

Replace the Zorst yourself and get some brand new photos of the car and you'll get moreinterest and cash. Simple.

I have not posted pictures of the exhaust on ebay, I've only mentioned it has a Universal SS Backbox.

 You might wanna clarify that mate. If I won it and turned up to find it looking like a chavmobile I'd be walking away and you'd be left with a dispute on your hands. Just a PITA!

I'd add a photo of the 'zorst just to avoid any mix ups. :?

Surely it would be cost effective to put on a new rear box as it's only £60. Then you can advertise it as having a new one which seems more appealing.

Dude, I don't want to pick here but I've just been looking at your eblag ad. You've actually cropped the 2 photos that show the rear of the car in such a way as to cut the 'zorst out of them  - Why? :? .

Just saying it's got a "Universal Stainless Steel Exhaust Backbox" ain't good enough mate, mines got a SS 'zorst but it looks like a standard high spec oval one. People will be expecting a nice subtle SS job. If you don't at least clarify that it's wearing an oversized tail pipe then there'll be a very high chance you'll get trouble at collection time.

How much is your back box worth? It might benefit you to change it for a standard one yourself and sell this one on eblag separately? At least come clean about it and maybe offer potential buyers this option :?

In one of the pics you can just make out a reflection of the zorst in the bumper (where geordie cropped the photo).

The backbox that is on was £60, if I had a spare £60 I would replace it with a standard 1, but I dont.

If it sells and they complain about it I will knock off £100 for it.

It does mention Universal SS Backbox, most of which are 4" bore.

Makes no diffs on mine, I only got mine cos it was similar price to a standard exhaust, and being SS means it wont rot and last longer.
