Who's still got there black bit !

Post by grasmere59 »

Who's still got that little bit of rubber black trim strip on the bottom of the front bumper/valance on their D9? I pinched the one off the estate I just sold and put it on my car and no wonder they don't last long the way there held on.

Oooh, oooh - I have still got mine and its properly fixed too... :cheesy:

Shame its on the car I'm breaking though, and the front bumper on the GLX has a tatty bottom ( ) and it won't fit on properly.

Looks like I'm buying another tube of superglue to hold bits of my car together

I had... although I only discovered it under the boot carpet after six years of ownership. I presume it's still there.

Mine's still there, but it's getting looser at one end.

Does it even serve a purpose at all?

Mine was there, knocked it off twice on curbs but it fitted back on fine.... Is it still there John? And of course there was the period when it was on a shelf in the garage 'cos the car had a bit of old Renault screwed to the bottom of the bumper

There must be a pixie who visits ramps and speed bumps in the night and returns orphaned black bits to under the boot carpet.

I have my black rubber bit attached (and a spare one too)

A handy trick to prevent it going AWOL is drill a small hole in each end and through the bumper and fit a small cable tie, so if it jumps out of the clips it remains on the car.

I think it is fitted to improve the aerodynamics, but the effect must be tiny.

why did they not make it more substantial like on the coupe?
