I Came to this forum when searching for the location of the fuelpump Relay location. My dealer said that it was supposed to be located in the same box, or besides the ECU on the right side of the vehicle. But I can't find it. It feels like I have been looking everywhere for that little brown thing.
The Dealer also said that on some of the late models of 406 it was possible that the relay was somehow hard coded into the main fuseholder thats under the dash or something.
A little background information:
Last week I wealded the exhaust on the car, as it had broken off going onto the back silencer.
On Monday I started up the car, so that it would be warm before heading to work. It stood outside on idle for about ten minutes,
I got into the car, put it in reverse and it just died. And then the Radio display showed: Anti Pollution Fault.
The Car started again after leaving it alone for a couple of minutes. The starter motor Turned around, but couldn't start the engine. Kinda Like when the immobilizer kicks in.
It ran without any more problems until thursday, Then it just died while driving along the road. Tried starting it. it starts, but dies within a couple of seconds. (We find out that this is beacuse the fuel pump isn't working)
"Anti Pollution Fault" in the display when we tried tow-starting it while towing it back home.
The Car runs if we put start the fuel pump by putting power directly on it. That is why I believe that it should be the relay that is the problem.
The Car displays "Economy mode active" in the Radio Display if I turn on the ignition. But the Battery is fully charged.
So I Wonder if anybody can tell me where the Fuelpump Relay is, or if anybody got any other idea on what the problem can be?
The Car is an 2003 Model 406 Estate, 1.8 Petrol
