bsi sleep
i need to take my alternator off the car for repair and i understand how to put the bsi into sleep mode but as the car will be without the alternator overnight how can i do this when you are supposed to lower the drivers window before disconnecting the battery, i don't want to leave the car overnight with the window down.

Re: bsi sleep
I've never done the window down thing, I just wait a good 5 mins before disconnecting the battery after closing all the doors, and another 5 mins after reconnecting battery before opening a door.

ok cheers i'll do that , can see any other way it can be done anyway without leaving the window down

Re: bsi sleep
Logic says the window down thing is purely so you can run the 'system test' bit, letting it go to sleep with just the bonnet up would be exactly the same scenario as a battery going completely flat which you would presume Pug would have built in to the system.
