Nice 2.2 HDi 7 seater SE Estate
Looks mint, and only 93k on the clock. I do like the SE interiors.
7 seat 2.2 HDis are rare, only ever seen a couple!

Re: Nice 2.2 HDi 7 seater SE Estate
Nice car, but the text in the advert makes my brain bleed...
!!! Every Word Has A Capital Letter , All Comma's Have A Space Before And After Them , And All Plural Word's Have Apostrophe's , And All Text Is Larger Than It Needs To Be !!!
With the exception of dyslexics and those of poor eyesight, I struggle to think of any reason why someone might write like this, especially when they're trying to sell you a product, as part of their business. Even those from other countries whose native language is not English wouldn't write like this in English, because they wouldn't write like this in their own language. What kind of impression are they trying to create?
I should be grateful that it's of a higher standard than the usual eBay advert dross, like:
AMAZIN MOTOR GREAT CONDITION TWO YEARS OLD ONLY DONE 459000 MILES ONE CAREFUL OWNER GENUINE REASON FOR SELLIN NEEDS NEW ENGINE BUT ELECTRIC SEATS WORK GREAT NO TIMEWASTERS PEUGEOT NOT BMW AUDI MERCEDES PORSCHE
...with either no photos, one (poor-quality) photo, a photo of the wrong car completely, or a photo of the forecourt showing all the cars the guy is selling except for the one in the advert.
Sorry, rant over. Excuse: I'm the son of a college English lecturer, I have a voracious appetite for reading, and it's been a *long* and challenging week at work

I do agree with you, I'm a bit of a stickler for correct spelling and grammar too on the whole.
I thought the car was worth posting nonetheless

Re: Nice 2.2 HDi 7 seater SE Estate
Does this make my car rare then..? I have a fairly rare colour / interior / engine combination and mine has 7 seats too..
I did notice on the 'C' pillar you can just see the extra belts for the boot seats.

Does look pretty tidy and Moonstone Blue if I'm not mistaken.
I think it's a reasonable price, certainly wouldn't want to pay any more for it.

Shame it's so far away. I could be tempted to turn up with £1,500 in my pocket on a take it or leave it basis.

Actually, I absolutely despise piss-poor spelling and grammar. English is my second language and if I can see the mistakes, there's absolutely no excuse for someone whose English is the first language to make them. It's/its, your/you're, of/have, plural's/plurals... GAH!

if I might respectfully point out, someone for whom English is their first language, would be a better construction. Yours could be referring to my version of English, (where quite possibly apostrophes have different rules).Captain Jack wrote: ...there's absolutely no excuse for someone whose English is the first language to make them. Seriously though, as someone who tries with very limited success to converse in a second language, I am humbled by your proficiency in our archaic, inconsistent and totally illogical language.
Banged to rights.

Yep, sentence construction is my weakest point... even after 20 years of exposure.Doggy wrote:if I might respectfully point out, someone for whom English is their first language, would be a better construction. Fear not. You haven't been in a situation where you simply didn't have a choice but to learn it. Especially 20 years ago where there were very few "imports" from abroad to converse with. Unlike these days where every town has an Eastern European community, shops etc.Doggy wrote:...as someone who tries with very limited success to converse in a second language...
