Are the pattern MAFs a bit hit & miss?
I've read lots of comments on here saying buy genuine.

I think it's like the old saying "that you get what you pay for",i always try and get the best parts i can afford or at least a well recognised make,i just replaced my alternator and probably paid the same for a low mileage used genuine one as i could have paid for a no name recon unit.

Guess what? When it comes to MAFs, you get what you pay for. (Wot Grasmere said)
Bought a chinese one for 30 quid from http://www.autosensors.co.uk/en/ and although it did change the responsiveness of the car, I can't say there was an overall improvement.
So then shelled out £75 (ouch) for a Siemens branded OEM from http://www.eurocarcare.net/ and the improvement is significant, better MPG also.

Anyone want a crappy Chinese MAF?

PS. it's still wobbling at 1500RPM, despair.
