406 D9 saloon poor radio reception

Post by cherron »

This car is really starting to annoy me with minor niggles.
Latest - the aerial had completely seized, and the inside metal part of the mast had rusted through. Got Peugeot to remove and fit a new mast (only £11 all in!). The reception on FM was good for at least 5 minutes, before it started sounding 'FUZZY'.
The radio was working perfectly when I first got it last month.
Any ideas as to what I can do to fix it?????

I've had terrible trouble with my radio. I took mine out and making sure the aeiral cable was firmly plugged in cured terrible trouble I had with my radio.

Also, some 406's (mine for example) have an amplified base at the bottom of the aerial, and these are known to fail.
