I have just fitted a Clarion CD Head Unit to my D9 (a standard peugeot one). It sounds awesome - especially with the JBL system - BUT - even with the volume at level 1 (with the LOUD off) it is still a bit too loud for my delicate ears.
Is there any way of adjusting the minimum volume so it is lower - but not off completely?
Must be a sign of age not to be asking how to make it even louder!
You know what chap, that is the one thing I hate about the Peugeot system. I have the standard head unit with the standard Amp and JBL's and it IS too loud.
You find if your in slow moving traffic and want to 'converse' quietly with your passenger then even on number 1 it is too intrusive [spelling?] I mostly turn it off.
I would like to know if it can be changed, but I am thinking it can't.
Cars in my care:
2021 Kia Spottage 1.6 Pez Turbo Dual Clutch Gearbox Trickery
2013 Renner Twingo - donkey work
Yeah I didn't like it in the Golf either, a mate of mine used to have a GTi, but the auto volume was too much in that. By the time we were doing 100mph my ear drums were bleeding
That's why I said perhaps the Peugeot system is working properly, i.e. increasing the volume slightly so that you can still hear the radio, but at the same time not increasing it enough to drown out the increased road / wind / engine noise associated with the increased speed. IMHO If your going to go faster you should be able to see, feel and hear that your going faster.

did your dealer let the radio know that theirs a JBL system on the radio?
the dealer can reprogram the radiospeaker output to "jbl" then the outgoing power is less then regular settings.
