ARB drop links....
Morning all,
Would worn ARB droplinks on the rear, cause my rear tyres to wear on their outer edge ? I've now had the links replaced, as part of the MOT, and was hoping that the wear was caused by the now fixed bits , as another £60 for wheel alignment would really hurt !

Yes, worn /failing rear Top links makes the tyres bald on the edges,
its one of the things ihate about the 406, its abit of a stupid rear suspension set up,
keep your eye on the tyres any sighn of tyre wear, get it alighned,

Re: ARB drop links....
ARB drop links and suspension top links are 2 different things. I wouldn't have thought the ARB drop link could cause much extra wear.

Re: ARB drop links....
Having just looked closely at my rear tyres, they are almost down to the wear markers across most of the tread, with the exception of about 1cm at the very outer edge, which has worn right the way down. Changing the ARB links got rid of a slight clonking at the rear, and just wondered if they could speed up such tyre wear when knackered ?

No i very very much doubt it!
It will be wheel alignment or a slightly worn bush.

As for my case, it is the other way around. The rear tyres worn on their inner edge; both sides.
something to do with worn out ball joints?

Just had 4 wheel laser alignment done, and it was out out all 4 corners
So, two tyres and a load of adjustment later, the pug now drives much nicer, and I can add yet another (4) mechanic to the list , that upon seeing I drive a 406 state " why on earth did you buy one of those ? "

My mechanic can't speak highly enough of 406's! When he saw I had my Mondeo he looked very dissapointed
