My advice is to introduce yourself to your local Petrol Station operative, you'll be seeing a lot of him soon :P

A few years ago, I coasted into an overpriced rural garage, between Spilsby & Boston one Easter Sunday evening, as the last fumes in the cavernous tank of my 24V Carlton were consumed.

The look of surprise and gleeful anticipation on the owners face, plus the rubbing of hands together was perhaps to be expected, but I found the near deafening crescendo of churchbells from across the village green, frankly a little excessive......

...So I put a gallon in and filled it up in Boston.
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

I got 26/27 from my Carlton and 27/28 from the Omega, so seemingly similar. Bear in mind almost all my miles are main road / motorway. A week at home / pootling around town saw the Omega barely managing 20.
