Hi from Argentina

Post by NineFears »

Hi there! my name is Pablo, and I've recently acquired my 406 2.0 D9 petrol. It has about 62000 miles and everything seems to be working as expected, except for a lumpy idle when stopping at traffic lights, which I'm still investigating. In an attempt to scan the ECU with one of those chinese clones, it says the engine doesn't reply, so I'm open to suggestions...hehe.
Thanks for having me and I hope I can be of some use for you guys.

Hello and welcome to the forum. 8)

Your car looks very tidy and that is very low mileage too.

You say, "engine does not reply". Can you get a response from any of the other ecu's?
2002 HDi 2.2 Exec Estate, (2008-12) (wonderful)
2003 HDi 2.2 6-speed Exec Estate (2012-19) (also a gem)
2009 Citroen C5 2.0 HDi VTR+ Estate (godawful heap)
2008 BMW E91 330i touring (great fun - murdered by a reversing SUV)
2007 BMW E91 325i touring (slower smoother quieter)

Hey Doggy,
Yes, all the other features work OK, I was able to test the BSI, all the lights, dash, door locking, etc. The only one not working is the engine ECU...

Is it possible to try it on a different Peugeot? (That should tell you if it is the diagnostic system, or your car).

I think the engine ecu uses a different pin, 'the k-line', for comms.

Unfortunately, my usual source of diagrams is not responding at the moment, so I can't give you any further info. If you have access to a diagram, I would suggest checking you have continuity between the correct pin on the diagnostic connector and the ecu, (carefully).

(maybe steve, or someone can oblidge)?

I suck at reading electric diagrams, lol. If someone could point me out to which pin to test I'd be forever grateful
