Front Fog Conversion
I have completed a front fog lamp addition to my 98 2.1 estate.
2 new genuine Peugeot front fogs, new relay and one of these. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/PEUGEOT-406-6 ... 0631808205?
Everything works, accept when on high beam, the dipped lights go out. I can hold the high beam flasher on, and the dipped and high beams are on.
I emailed the seller, and he just wants me to send back so he can test, and check they sent the right one, (Polish seller, so postage will be expensive and long, and coms hard) I already left positive feedback, so not as helpful as they could be.
Any ideas, wiring diagram, or possible part numbers?
I don’t have a “correct” part number as the car didn’t come with front fogs.
Thanks, Mike

Agreed, I'm pretty sure my dipped beams turn off when main beams are turned on. I think it's normal!

I might be weong, but i think they should all be on.
First time i drove in the dark with the new set up, i noticed straight away it didn't look right.

I think they should stay on too - I reckon you have the wrong version of the stalk.
Had the opposite problem with my old Xsara, (H4 twin filament single headlights), which are meant to switch off the dip beam when the main's on and vice-versa. Bought a 2nd hand stalk when my indicators died & received one for a 4 x H7 set-up, (like the 406). Result - both filaments lit on main beam.

All mine stay on too . I just tried it. I wonder if I'm remembering from the D8.
Edit: Nope, it's the Toyota *bangs head against wall* - according to Service Box there can be only one. Well, 3 actually:
6253 54 - CONTROL SWITCH - UNTIL RPO 07146
6253 67 - NO FRONT FOG LIGHTS SINCE RPO 07147
6253 68 - FRONT FOG LIGHTS SINCE RPO 07147
The RPO is June 1996 so I can't see it affecting anything major.

Re: Front Fog Conversion
No numbers on the new one at all.
But just took one 0ff a 98 Ex and has all the same pins and wires as the new one, and this works fine on my car, so the new one must be faulty.

Re: Front Fog Conversion
At least you got a result, now I guess you'll have to see about sending the dodgy one back for a refund.
I wonder how many more he sold like that
