Yeah Peugeots latest auto boxes are sealed for life.

The girlfriends clio had problems with it's autobox a few years ago. Not one garage could work out why it was jamming itself in second and going into limp mode.
I gave the autobox a service and all was well!

I lol'd about the comments about auto's being for old and disabled people.........

I have driven several auto's. The boss has had 2 merc auto's and both times they have been nice to drive, quick to respond to flooring the throttle and comfortable around town, not had it on the motorway so unsure what its like in that aspect.

But going up and down country lanes - i sooner have a manual box, can select what gear I want to be to go around the corner not some fupping computer!

Also add into the equation that a car would need traction control in icey/snowy conditions for an auto box to be useable..... A manual i can keep the revs low in a high gear, or vice versa if going through a large puddle...........

Is that like the bimmer ones that, when they go wrong, bmw ask why you didn't change the oil in them

You all know that you can lock autos in certain gears?
Also most new autos have a manual mode too.

I also belive my girlfriends Clio had a snow button, when it was icy it would pull off in second and not change gear until higher in the revs.

Steve - Yeah definatley wanted to fit a new box. She was happy when a service sorted it all out though. I think if I had an auto oil changes would be every 12k/1year.
