Not the young lady and the fat bastard in the backround the dog?
No matter how much we brush him he still gets matted in areas so am thinking of taking him for a trim, would he just look stupid with a no2 all over?

a trim would be good, my old collie had a good shearing once, for a few days she was sheepish to say the least but after had a new lease of life and was like a puppy again!
Cut the hair off, the dog will feel better for it being able to keep much cooler, and it stops the clumps and hairballs getting any bigger.
I did the collies hair with sheep shears but it took nearly 3 hours to do right, and even at that anyone who looked at him laughed quite a lot
the hair before getting cut:
and after
Good effort fp i saw a set of pet grooming clippers on the weekend somewhere it may have been in the aldi magazine but he'd be missing an ear if i tried it.
A doggy salon near me said £20 to £25 and thats for a shampoo and nails clipped (good luck with the shampoo girls he shows his teeth at me whan i bath him)

if the dog grooming place does it for £25 its a good deal, cutting the dogs hair is a nightmare especially with whatever breed is mixed in his hair is very thick i filled 3 bags full sir of hair.
but the annoying thing with sheep shears is they overheat so it meant 10 minuites
of cutting then wait for it to cool as the dog was quick to protest about them. but any of them sheep farmers can shear a sheep in less than a miniteuite there must be a skill to using the shears.
not human ones the ones for pets iirc ipaid 25 quid for aset,
i dont use them anymore tho as my dogs dont have much fur iused to trim my mother n laws yorkshire Mongrels
if the fur is knoted /tangled use a pair of scizzors and a comb first use the comb as guide,
Just took him to the local groomers to find out whats best to do she said she dont shave merle collies she shampoo's them and gives them a good brushing getting the undercoat out so is fur flows £20.
Is it possible if i shampoo him and concentrate on the matted bits, then brush him while wet that i could get the same results? i got a brush like the old hags in that video.
