It could be clip on but theres a chance they bolt it from below so the whole thing has to be removed to get the top out. It is renault afterall, i had to take the full dash top off just to change one wee bulb.

update: heres the answer ifound :(

Oh yes. That is the Sh*test job on the Laguna planet you are getting into..!!
Note that you need to buy the complete Radio Cage. This comes with the cup holder but not the cover. The old cover unclips and can be reused..

It can be replaced with great difficulty without removing the complete Dash.. The problem is that the cage is held in place by 4 phillips screws but these screwheads are facing away from you, and it is impossible to get a screwdriver into remove them.. I use a Screwdriver head and a small right angled specialist wrench.
I have done a few of these but even then it will take me 1.5-2 hours, and I will be left with cut up hands..

If you want to attempt it then:
1: Remove the Glovebox to get at the top left screw
2: Remove the Instrument cluster to get at the Top Right Screw.
3: Remove the Keycard reader and Aircon Panel to get at the Lower two screws.. (if you have a manual aircon panel then be very careful of breaking the airbox control wires)

If you cannot do it this way then the only other option you have is to remove the complete dashboard. Again a Bitch of a job...
