Re: Starting to feel silly in work now...
Right finally got to see a consultant today. Had a CT scan friday, goto go for another next week but this time they put a dye in my blood.
He's convinced they are vascular migranes and has been me on Beta blockers.

What do they do? a stupid doctor in our hospital prescribed them to me about 13 years ago and if it wern't for the consultant/surgeon pointing out to him that i have asthma i'd have taken them.lozz wrote:Beta blockers are bad news mate.![]()

Beta blockers for a migraine? Next it'll be out with the leeches
Nowhere do you mention nausea and migraines don't give you pains in your arms and legs. What about auras? I reckon if you have migraines they're a symptom, rather then a diagnosis. I hope the "dye" test gives them a better idea!

Re: Starting to feel silly in work now...
I was reading the side effects of some asthma spray.
It says something like 'Children will see things that aren't real'
"I see dead people" ?

If you take to much it can have the same outcome as inhaling gas, i saw my grandad come down the stairs one day and hide from me behind the coats we had hanging up... In reality he was in the pub getting sh*t faced.sirwiggum wrote:I was reading the side effects of some asthma spray.

It can also give you the shakes, one of the inhalers i'm on if you dont use mouthwash or brush your teeth afterwards it'll give you thrush.

Aching in the arms etc are all symptoms of migranes.
The way he was talking I agree this is more than likley the issue.

Re: Starting to feel silly in work now...
Strangeness
I thought I was pretty clued up on it but that's a new one to me.
There are some specific migraine prescription drugs out there that actually work (rather than the over-the-counter stuff that does burger all) - Zomig is my weapon of choice - so it's strange you've not been tried on any of those first.
edit: just reading up on the propranololol, you're not pregnant are you?

It must be the same stuff the doctor wanted me on because thats exactly the nasty little problem i've had for 15 years.Propranolol is also used to lower portal vein pressure in portal hypertension and prevent esophageal variceal bleeding.

I've also been told I should start swimming. Reason being I can exercise and keep cool.
Had a look at the local leisure centre time tables and theres lots of lane swimming going on. What the hell is lane swimming? Is it competitive?
