I know that several people on here have got a bit of a problem with Pirellis, but I've always found them great on my car. I did try a few Goodyears, which were also fine, but I'm just happier with the Pirellis. I've had Michelins in the past (on my previous 406) and found them crap, particularly in the wet.

I've got a theory about these eco tyres which essentially claim to improve economy by reducing the rolling resistance and also increase the tyre life. I reckon that the harder compound will reduce the grip and therefore be less safe in an emergency. I also reckon that the tyre will be closer to it's limit of grip more often and (maybe this is just my driving style) it'll slip a bit more so wear out quicker. :?

The newest cinturato P7 seems an overall great tyre from reviews. I was very tempted to get it but in the end I went for Nokian ZG2s.
I completely agree on your points about eco tyres. In fact when looking for a tyre that has to last 4-5 years (for people who don't use the car much) I always seek the tyre with the most rolling resitance and most wear.

I've got P6 Cinturatos on the front and worn out P6000s on the back at the moment, but I'll be changing the back ones within a week so I expect I'll have another pair of the P6s. As Steve mentioned, I just feel like they suit the car
