notch on steering wheel and spinning disc

Post by VespaSkin »

Hi all

Got a defined tug on steering if I steer right, not the usual straightning feel, but a tug, also steers to right quite bad, seller told me had been informed lower ball joint, would this cause the pulling to the right? When on full left lock, just coming off it, can feel a 'sort of' clunk had a look underneath car - rack looks OK, ball joint looks old and perishing, as does down link and track rod end.. trolley jacked arm where lbj is and gave disk a goob pull/push/rattle but can't feel owt...

Also, noticed wheel disk is rotating when on stands and ticking over - I'm sure this aint right

Cheers

The disc spinning with the engine running is normal, it's the oil in the differential and the action of the differential.

Ckeck all your joints plus the top strut mountings, look for the spring trying to twist whilst someone turns the steering, the spring should not move.

Cheers, I've just changed the spring, top race, lower ball joint, drop link and track rod end on the V reg I'm breaking (and on the same side) I might drop the lot and swap over, if they will fit....

Not the right part of forum but.....

Is there a fuse for the right hand windows (front and back)? as I swapped the switch with my 2 switch one to see if I could get driver window to work but it wouldn't so think its either the fuse or there is a white multi plug i can see when i took the switches out, may need plugging in to the window motor....
