Where to buy all this stuff?
Hi all, I'm looking to buy a few good quality brand new parts from the UK, since some of the are much cheaper than here. Suspension components specially. Where (online) could I buy all of them in a single shipment to save on shipping prices?
This is the list of what I need / could need:
fuel filter
oil filter
air filter
pollen filter
rear brake discs
rear handbrake calipers (shoes)
wiper blades
front and rear droplinks (508760, 5178 38) and rear stabilizer rods (called sometimes toplinks, 5178 39)
front springs (5002 V4) and spring bearings (5030 23)
I want to change the front springs and bearings because they wear with age. Would I need to replace the shocks too?
All parts are for my 2001 2.2HDi saloon.
Thanks for any tips in advance.

This is where i get all the parts from, its the local motor factors, they have only recently upgraded to a computerised system and will deliver (although I've never had to use the delivery since i live less than 10 miles away) i don't know about delivery to italy but surely if you ring or email them they should try and help, especially as its a bulk order.

Re: Where to buy all this stuff?
It's not easy to get all the stuff from a single vendor I fear, and it's difficult to find one that has a good price on the droplinks, and on the springs, and on something else.Gary406 wrote:ebay ? this is probably your best option i would think .
I'm looking at the UK since the droplinks only here are 20€s each. I do not know why. All the rest is almost the same but suspension components are mch more expensive.

but as gary said ebay is also handy, although if you buy parts off different sellers it can be a bit of a headache paying for the different items, then some parts arrive at different times.

I don't know if they ship overseas, you would have to ask them, but these are my main suppliers who sell very good quality parts at reasonable prices.

Re: Where to buy all this stuff?
There is a difference but not on all parts. Only some of them I'd say.Alberto wrote:

All the service and common problems item are cheaper in the UK because I guess there's much more people fixing the car by themselves. I've never heard of anyone fixing his own car here, exept me and other members of various forums. My friends do not know what to think, if I'm very smart or very stupid

Lot of people in the Uk don't either.
I rarely see people in the street hoking at a motor, they buy these 316is on the never-never and rely on the dealer - even to check the oil and tyres!
The look at you in disbelief if you have a car up on ramps changing the oil.
