Disc retaining screw

Post by Matt »

where can i get some retaining screws from for the brake discs? i was inspecting my hubs today and discovered one of my front offside screws has been sheered off by the garage that last fitted my brakes :frown:

I'm replacing the hub and discs/pads tomorrow but i'm assuming that the new hub wont come with new screws

does anyone have a part number or should i just get some from the scrappy?

i think iam correct in thinking that they are not really needed as the disc can t move because of the wheel studs and the wheel.

Omega correct in that once the wheel is on it is all clamped up.
But the disc retaining screws do make life easier when trying to do things with the wheels off to stop the brake discs flopping about all over rthe place, e.g. changing pads or adjusting handbrake shoes.

btw Omega, that door from you went on and is doing good service :-)
